When I got here, I didn't see or understand very much of what was going on and now being in the Thick of things just makes me want to be even more involved. crazy2

Some things I still don't understand and probably never will. Those being why people act, say or do what they do, but that's really just life in general. But as I am Aging :o LOL I find it doesn't matter as much as it did when I was younger. I was Truly blessed when I met Ed and Life has never been the same since. thumbsup I worked my butt off before, for "the MAN" and pretty much got taken advantage of because I don't fit the Norm. It's Tax season, so I get a lot of stories of "I get $5,000 or more cause I have kids and no job! LOL That used to piss me off as, of course, I was paying for them!! But, I was presented with an Opportunity so I took a chance on Life. This IS America after all, the Land of Opportunity!!! and to make it here you Should be able to chase your dreams. My dream, so I thought before, was just working hard, paying my bills and just be Content with what life gave me. And that was fine, until I met Ed. He had a whole new look on things, one I have never encountered before. And it was interesting and Doable!! I was and still am Very excited! I can make a Difference somewhere in Life!

He had his Dream of what he wanted out of his life since he was a kid and mine really wasn't set as I was just going to "go through Life" like everyone else, that is until he shared his dream with me and asked....So what do you think? I thought about it, added a few things, brought up a couple things, deleted some other things and now WE are chasing OUR Dreams, BOTH of us and them! WFO!

It is really a WONDERFUL feeling! It's damn scary at times for sure! Things go wrong or happen at the worst possible time and you know you get the thoughts of wellll maybe this wasn't such a good idea, the economy is rough, people (in general) are not so Nice a majority of the time and there is ALWAYS, no matter what, that One person or many, that will waste their energy trying to destroy what you work very hard for, for whatever reason, though I feel it's really just jealousy. Envy is the worst and most Useless emotion of them all in my opinion, but will make people do crazy, terrible and hurtful things to you.

Anyway, Ed and I worked out a "Business Plan" and worked it into our relationship. Since that was set, life can and Has and will continue to throw curve balls and whoop sections at us all it wants. We are a Team and we will work hard and work through and come out clean on the other side. Even if we fail we will know in our hearts and souls that we did the Best we could, we made that effort and WE as a Team worked and have done all we could.

What is our Dream you ask? LOL Our dream is to do everything we can to help this areas MX Racing Community! To work with others in our community to provide and give to the Racers and wannabe Racers an Opportunity to maybe make Their dreams come true! To bring more people into the MX Family, To provide a decent place to practice and race, to be helpful with trustworthy and factual information when you have questions about racing and how it works, to help you fix your bike so you can make your next moto, to Share with you what we have in order to help you accomplish your goal(s), to hang out with you, our friends, new and old and constantly changing, around the fire at the end of a good day of practice or racing. b=

I believe that we are getting better everyday. we are certainly learning something new everyday and every race and incorporate what we learn into the next time/event. We work with other tracks and promoters to ensure that we ALL have the same Opportunity to Succeed! Everything is in the Open as we have nothing to hide. Knowledge is power and Most people learn Sharing in Kindergarten! It's not and never has been about money with us. It's Always been about the riders! That was the ONE thing we both agreed on with no argument! We have our Haters, as everyone does and that's ok. No one can ever please Everyone. It's the ridiculous and petty stuff that gets on My nerves! And that would be the one thing that differs between Ed and I. It doesn't bother Ed. Come to think of it, not a whole lot bothers him. I am sure you have all seen some Issues come across a few sites and all I want to purvey to you is if you want the Truth that is what you will get with US! He said she said leads to rumors and misleading communication and that is NOT what We Do! We would rather have everyone know everything from BOTH sides so they can make an informed decision of what they want to do and plan their schedules efficiently as opposed to being misguided by some of what gets posted on the internet!! If you don't like us and what we do, that's ok too, but we will not do harm to those that harm us. Everyone is always welcome and we will do everything we can to help you if you need it.

Ed represents District 18 as it's AMA Off-Road Congressman and locally as D-18's Competition Director. We go to AMA Congress every year to help the racing community nationally. We also work with MX Sports to help at Loretta Lynns every year and are helping with other National Tracks. Though I am not an AMA official, I AM an AMA member and get to attend some of the meetings every year. I have learned a TON just being there! Have even started my Referee training!! Meetings, in general, can be very boring in the Business world, but when you get a group of Seasoned Motorcycle racers/enthusiasts/activists that are and have been involved for Many years together.....WOW it can get interesting.

Some of you that have been members of the District 18 over that past 10 years have seen some of the changes that have gone on. Those that are newer only really know what is happening currently and without prior knowledge of how its been don't understand how it got to be where it is or can appreciate the difference between then and Now!

someone posted somewhere that "life is all in how you perceive it. I responded with it is all relative. So that prompted this.....

If you Perceive life and learn from what happens to you physically and obviously then, typically it should, at least, turn you toward a position to change what hampers you in said life in order for you to succeed, right? ok I agree, learn from your mistakes. This is definitely something I have done and continue to do DAILY! LOL

But, as I have grown older and have "adjusted accordingly" to my personal issues/causes I have come to understand that Relative is a little more important, for me anyway.

My life is Awesome, right now, cuz Life is extremely unpredictable. So that makes MY Relative very important and since perspective is already ingrained.....anyone see where I am going with this??????

I have come to look at Life very different. Perspective has become Expectant, your expected to react a certain way given a certain situation but Life Isn't that way, it's Relative, as in How do you cope with what is handed you at any given moment that changes you and your actions at any give time and you have no clue until it happens!!!

Action/reaction, wasn't that Einstein? Relativity? Basically every action causes a reaction. I am not sure, really just "blogging"! thinking I am not that smart for sure, probably just heard that somewhere and it sounded good and I'm probably wrong about who came up with it and just to lazy to look it up. Anyway, it's kinda like the guy Ed and I ran into at Wal-mart the other day talking about guns and said someone told him to read John 3:16 and he said it was a pretty cool "quote"........ok.... it was Wal-mart what to you really Expect?!?! these kids are gonna run your world soon, just saying.........

So, say I am close to being right, well, at least in agreeance with the action/reaction thing. LOL Mostly what I have noticed as I have no longer been Locked down to the Perspective ingrained/wired into my brain, subsequently, Freeing my mind to the actual reality of what is happening around me is that people are freaking stupid!!! they have no idea what is happening 3 inches from their asses/noses!!!!

You can no longer discipline your children in public for fear of being reprimanded. One incident years ago has now determined how our future will be. Not even just one, because for every single incident that goes WITHOUT reprimand DEMANDS how we shall live our lives from now on...... Isn't the Columbine kid still in jail cause he was a minor or did he rightfully kill himself??? Again not sure and to lazy to look it up, but if that is the case, is JAIL really so bad???? he has the best education and fitness equipment that our schools can't even provide. Charles Manson is up for parole again???? REALLLY???

So, I guess, Basically, Prespective - learning from your mistakes isn't working as well as Relative - adjusting to what is presented!! Unfortunately, our government that is Supposed to be by the people for the people is a TOTAL FAIL!!

You have to watch what you say and who you say it to, you are basically being watched and monitored constantly by someone, somewhere.....FB helped that along nicely I believe! lol

Tell me, please, what happened to the "love thy neighbor" thing or the "do unto others"? Because I am totally lost. Life now is more of a Screw your Neighbor in anyway shape or form in order to succeed. The world is going to end, AGAIN, so now everyone is REALLY out to screw you so they will be on top when the END comes? I don't get it. I was to young to understand this when it was happening last time, and since history does have an uncanny way of repeating itself, and knowing what I know now, it is almost entertaining to watch the reactions of the human race.

I can say with certainty, IMO of course, that this world has gone to censored! and I don't feel as good about being an American as I once did. I now feel very sad that my family worked hard to serve this country for it to turn around and run itself into the ground and to imply and enforce a nature of Socialism, that the Government can just Tell you what you can and can't do and that we, as Americans, are letting it happen and yet Still be the Most Free Country in the world?!

Working Together is no longer even considered. Helping a friend or much Less a stranger is practically unheard of anymore. Until you join the world of MX. But still there, you know the people you can count on to help you out and the people who will cheat you out!

If you or your kids' bike break or you or your kid for that matter, who do you go to that you can count on for whatever part/tool or who do you TRUST to pack all your stuff so you can get to the hospital without having to worry what's missing when the storm clears? Which tracks is it ok to leave your stuff outside the camper as you rest for the race in the morning?!

MX could quite possibly be the last real part of America!! I don't really believe that Totally. I am sure there are many other things people do that still hold the Values of Family and Fun and that everyones views will be different without a doubt.

So from this "stalking" that technology has afforded me...... comes my conclusion of the human race as a WHOLE!! Keeping in mind, Please, that I am a simple person with a simple life, who has worked very hard for simple things! Guessing, everyone Feels it but won't say anything, something is NOT right in the energy Field!

From my "stalking" it comes to my attention the true intentions of people. Computers can be and Are worse than the alcohol induced 10' tall and bullet proof persona I love so much!! Though I prefer to do mine In Person!!! But whatever..... right....?

From the "stalking" apparently people want the very best for the very MOST!! Good Luck with that around HERE!! There are Many Good tracks around, but they aren't Perfect or A-view Quality? Hello???? You think everyone that has a track has the resources and that of conditions? MOST work their asses off on their own dimes! And get criticized for even getting close to theirs as 1 is VERY CLOSE!!!!:) and No it isn't Ours!

I met Ed about 5 years ago and he showed me a life I had no idea even existed and fell completely in LOVE with Him and the "LIFE" he offered! I have always wanted to Do for "the People" who were like me. Who Worked Hard, Like ME. He said, Hey, how about this... what do you think? I was a little cautious. Your asking me to give up my everyday, normal, predictive and BORING life? FOR MX???? I don't even know what that is.....

Here, have a KX 100 supermini, and took me Freaking WOODS RIDING on it!! REALLY?!?! Ya, that didn't work!! But it DID!!! Only fouled 1 plug but made it through the creek crossing over the Monster Boulder and Kept it on 2-wheels!! I was SO Proud!!! Felt Sooo Good!!! So he said, what do you think about running TT, here's a TTR125....Looped it out on my first start! TOTALLY Embarrassed!! But.... got back on, finished the race and damn near got the holeshot on the second moto... HOOKED!!!! Hands Down!!! or up, no matter I was IN damn it!

Then I started getting more involved in the district. I watched, listened, took notes, paid attention and watched Ed work at his real job then come home and Work on the D. Then we took over Action and rebuilt it, made it ROMP to the best we can with help from quite a few people and could not have done it without them, and are Still Working on it, and as we are not as fortunate enough to have the Unlimited funds, Equipment and Volunteers as some, we still did it for the LOVE and for his DREAM of KEEPING the KIDS RIDING!

Even after his OWN Kid is grown and on his own.....Ed and, now I, along with his Son and Russ, are trying and working Very Hard on Very Limited Resources to make this a TRACK! We will continue to try and do our Best to make a track that has always been KNOWN for being Hard Packed Concrete into something Everyone can ride!! I am a great tester for the youngsters as that is my Level of Riding!!! LOL and Cody is a great tester for the more Experienced.

I Feel that Most want the Best, but mainly for themselves, as this is an economy that Demands that for money paid for services rendered! smirk

Then, as I watch the one I love give his everything to HELP them,though they Hear him they don't follow through with what they say and leave HIM to catch the Brunt of the BITCH that everyone has and no one else wants to bear but Know he'll be the one to catch it so it's all good... right? Not my Problem/Job? as they feel but won't say!!

For Our LOCAL Riders to have a Chance... No they don't Have to ride their local district. They can make it Big if they have enough money and have the time to travel. The District does Nothing for the riders, other than give them awesome memories of accomplishments and rewards...scholarships and recognition. But for the Working Crowd like ME?!?!? The only Competition is Local. And that is getting Super Awesome over the last couple years! If anyone is paying attention, that is!!! FREAKING WOW!!! And IS Recognized and Rewarded!!! Lifetime Memories of Accomplishment. But the District does nothing is ALLLL we hear?!?!!!!!!!

And If they just want a place to practice, we have it. No it isn't and won't be Perfect, No we aren't asking for a Ton of Money to ride it and No we aren't making any promises or money!!!

If You, and I hope you Know who you Are, feel that we are just some hicks with not a clue....We Aren't here to get Rich or Please YOU, We are Here.......

My company has recently gone through and been approved for ISO. SUPER DETAILED RECORD KEEPING AND QUALITY!! HA This Company did this to ACQUIRE a Client. Ok Cool Enough, needs to be done, will ensure more clients that will be ASS SSSURED that the quality of the product they are purchasing is of the utmost Highest standards. Np, I am and have been an inspector and pride myself on quality in my field, which is NOT my current job!

A little background. I work for a Contractor of Boeing. I am a machine operator of a most tedious and mind numbing job of sharpening Drill bits, those of which Boeing (among other major companies across the nation)uses to build our Armed Forces Fighter planes, they use them ONCE and send them back.

With that being said. They, the INSPECTION/QUALITY personnel, had my Lead person put 36 pans (approx. 8,000 drills) on my belt KNOWING THROUGH THEIR OWN INSPECTION that the point speed was 10 deg. OUT OF SPEC ON EITHER END!!!! (Max out is NO LESS THEN 3 DEGREES according to our Specs APPROVED by ISO) Not only does this make my job more difficult because now my part will also be out of spec but I was told to just run them because there wasn't enough of them bad. I spot checked several pans before I started this and there were, in my opinion, more than enough and would have been cost effective to just RERUN that process to ensure the QUALITY. Of course, when I brought that up, it was poo poo'd.

Fortunately for me, I was able to find the "sweet spot" that kept the majority of my part within spec, though many were very close!! And doesn't take away that the process BEFORE MINE was STILL OUT!! So my work day left me wondering and debating if my decision to do the best I could with what I had was good enough. I don't think so. Not with the lives of the people that are fighting for my rights comes to play. Too much thought? Afterall, its their (the company's) rep. So, now I am working for a Company that has been in business over 50 yrs, and this is how they do business? Is it really a company I want to be a part? Not to mention all the other BS they do but that's not important, just drama! LOL

To say the least, it was a difficult day of brain battling of MY ETHICS! I have been Fired from jobs for refusing to Lie to clients, conform to ideals that went against my principles, ethics, morals etc. I feel that is what defines me as a person and I don't like being put in positions from others that make me question that.

Should I have refused to run them? That was my first instinct! Tell them to give it to someone else.

or

keep my job cause they give me a measly paycheck so I can pay my bills!

It's a very sad nation we live in. It may be the richest but now I am coming to understand that we did it in a poor fashion and continue to make it worse by the ETHICS people use to get Ahead.

I guess this can be used in the MX world, because I can see it there as well. It's Everywhere!

We won't support you or the district because of.... and we won't be there because of..... Oh No We won't help, We just don't have the time, or we don't LIKE your Rules!

And yet those some of those SAME PEOPLE after seeing just what can happen after a few years of POSITIVE EFFORT and following GUIDELINES/RULES gives US a PERSONAL GAIN of TRUE THANKFULNESS from the very same RIDERS WE SUPPORT with GIVING INSTEAD OF RECEIVING can do in order for THEM to NOW WANT to be a part of the D so THEY can ACHIEVE a PERSONAL ($) GAIN?!?!? shockedgunfireflamewtfdevillaughnonodevil

I put it off every year hoping to get just one more day at the track before winter. I have everything set up so it only takes about 20 min but I always wait until its cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey.

It was spiting snow and we now have three months of nothingness to look forward to. cry

lil-t is working of on the banquet RSVP so I guess we have that to look forward to. We'll At least get to see all of our friends once over the winter.

Oh we all have a lot of work to do getting ready for next year and if it wasn't for that we would all be going crazy.

The date picking is almost done. Yamaha is wanting their dates. No one has the AQ dates yet. Web-site update, rules update, new schedules, (that I can't make up until the AQ dates are out), etc, etc, etc,

And I haven't even got into to the stuff that need to be done at ROMP. It looks like we are going to have our D-18 race in March or April. banghead

Okay,,, so I guess it won't be THAT boring this winter.

Friday,

Walk the track with Russ and Russ takes his shovel and makes sure all of the water holes drain.

Saturday,

Work the track with the tractor. Ed tries to drag water off the track with the chain-link drag, fills it with so much mud he pulls it apart three times.

Saturday Evening,

Russ takes his shovel and makes sure all the water holes that Ed made deeper will still drain.

Sunday Morning,

Cody has the track tilled up good but Ed says we can make it better with the chain-link drag.

Ed and Cody almost die when the chain-link drag was to heavy to be dragging over the big jumps and the tractor front wheels where at least 30 to 40 foot in the air over the BIG table. I really did think we where going over the edge!!!!!!

It ended up good with a good day of riding for all.

I can't help but not give ED and our local tracks a nod, as I feel whatever they are doing is a big contributing factor.
The dedication of the parents and riders in this defunct economy is commendable to say the least.
I remember having to drive no less then 3 hours to find hardcore competition and that was usually a LLQ or equivalent type of race. Well not anymore. It is right here in our back yard.
I am like most parents, and proud of our sons accomplishments, and his improvements to date. It is a great feeling to know that a third or fourth place finish is pretty damn good at a LOCAL race.
Wow I didn't think I would ever say that.
We are very excited to get next season started as I am confident we will see even more locals make the big show. It takes raw speed, and a lot of luck but I will blog about that later.

I will end with a big FAT CONGRATS to every rider that competed in D 18 this season. If I see the talent, then I know a lot of other people see it too. It isn't something tangible that I can buy or sell, it is something I have to TRADE. This was never an issue for me until I met Ed and was introduced to the MX world. And what a exciting lifestyle to have!! :kiss

Watching Ed over these past few years and the TIME he TRADES for what he LOVES to better this sport and local riders through the D-18 is absolutely admiring and inspiring!
